Student Testimonials

"My daughter Arwen attended drum lessons with Phil weekly, throughout all of her secondary school and after she finished school. She loved her lessons with Phil and each week came out with a big happy grin. Although Arwen chose not to do music grade exams; for her the lessons were more for personal fun and also helped as a stress reliever during the tough teenage years. Phil was always very patient, kind and professional and got on well with Arwen and her confidence in drumming grew. I would highly recommend him as a drum teacher."

"I can’t recommend Phil highly enough. My daughter has been attending his drum lessons for the past 5 years and he is so patient and kind to her. He makes every lesson fun. He is an amazing teacher and drummer."

Claire Cassidy

“Phil is a fantastic drum teacher. He has a really positive approach to teaching, which always made me feel at ease. During lessons, Phil provided the right amount of motivation and encouragement, allowing me to grow in confidence and develop my drumming ability. His approach to teacher-student collaboration made each lesson engaging and enjoyable. I would recommend Phil as a drum teacher to anyone of any age.”

Eoghan Cunningham

"I have been playing the drums for about 10 years, however since starting lessons with Phil my consistency, skill set and playing technique has improved immensely. Lessons are interactive, goal focused and Phil gives excellent feedback and advice to guide your practice. He is very passionate about his craft and provides great examples of other drummers to research when working through various parts of the lessons. Since starting lessons with Phil my level of enjoyment has increased hugely and now am a much better and diverse drummer because of it!"

Kevin Clesham

"Phil is an excellent teacher. He is encouraging and patient, which helps a lot when you are just starting out. I have improved immeasurably under his guidance; flying through the grade books and honing my technique. He is completely understanding and doesn't put you down if you didn't practice; which is really appreciated when going through school. But the best part about Phil is that he will not let you be hard on yourself. He will always highlight how far you've come and that instead of saying 'I can't do it' , you have to say 'I can't do it yet'. So if you want to become a professional drummer or just to learn it for fun, Phil is your guy 🙂"

Eva Colton

"My son Daragh has been attending Drum lessons for a few years now with Phil, he really looks forward to every Saturday, he has progressed greatly under Phil's guidance learning a variety of styles, Phil has given Daragh confidence and advice. Phil is very patient and encouraging".
